Taiwan stocks ended flat on Wednesday as gains in defensive plays such as hotel chain operators were offset by losses in tech exporters. The main TAIEX index edged down 0.03 percent or 2.38 points at 7,634.19, pulling back from a 1.3 percent gain in the prior session. The tourism sub-index was up 1.1 percent while electronics sub-index was off 0.3 percent. The Taiwan dollar jumped T$0.091 to stand at T$29.039 to the US dollar.
